As ING is dedicated to staying a step ahead and always looking for solutions to better serve our customers. We are actively working on Blockchain technology as well including open source contributions to improve the current state of technology. One area where we see the great value of Blockchain technology is through the use of smart contracts. Decentralized technologies such as Blockchains and Distributed Ledger technology require transactions to be shared and validated between multiple participants in the network. Given the confidentiality requirements of our banking applications this provides an interesting challenge. In this talk Cees van Wijk explains how this challenge is overcome using a variety of technologies ranging from advanced cryptography, hardware based solutions and others.
