How Klarna optimize and personalize the checkout experience.
With Klarna's fast growing user base and the constant evolvement of new payment methods the Klarna checkout offering is constantly growing. With additional choices comes additional preferences. Without information about the user we have to resort to sorting the payment options based on popularity. However, we can do better. By mining customer data and training a machine learning model to predict payment preference for each purchase, we have built a model that personalizes the order of presented payment options and as a result achieves higher customer satisfaction and conversion. In this talk, Samare will give an overview of the Personalizing Checkout problem and an introduction of the machine learning approach we currently use at Klarna.
