In this talk I will explain how and why there is a discrepancy between the code being developed by scientists and by software developers. I will take you on a journey of how we bridged some of these differences in a project that I have been working on. In particular I will introduce the python framework mlflow and explain how this is a useful and easy to use tool for managing the lifecycle of machine learning code.
