Taking Security Seriously

What connects British Airways, US Customs and Border Protection, the Swedish Transport Agency, Experian and Equifax? They have all suffered major breaches in the last few years, and none of them are modern technology companies. Security matters, but the rate of technological change means that the way that we approach security has to change. We are increasingly using more cloud hosted services, from productivity suites like Office 365 and Google Suite to wikis, task tracking and customer relationship management tools to cloud hosting, and none of these tools are amenable to traditional security controls. In this talk I will outline strategies that modern companies can take, questions you can ask that will drive positive behaviour in your organisation, and methods to unlock and enable good security practice.
