Author of "Retrospectives Antipatterns"
Aino is a retrospectives master whose newly released book Retrospectives Antipatterns has already become a worldwide classic.
See how small changes for team dynamics can eliminate most productivity issues and apathy.
Aino Corry is a teacher, a technical conference editor and retrospectives facilitator. She holds a masters degree and a ph.d. in computer science, has 12 years of experience with patterns in software development, and 10+ years' experience with facilitation of retrospectives.
For the past 5 years she has been focused on facilitating the agile journey for several companies in Denmark. She also teaches how to teach computer science to teachers, and thus lives up to the name of her company; Metadeveloper. She is always interested in hearing anecdotes about octopuses.
By using her usually underplayed humor, she will dive into some of the well-known mistakes we all make as team members.
Topic focus: Agile software development

Retrospective Facilitation Training
Retrospectives are all about making your team better. Working with agile development, you know that it is an important part of the process to continually reflect on, adjust, and improve your work process. Unfortunately, some retrospectives are facilitated in a way so that they are wasting time instead of being the rewarding learning process they should be.
This workshop provides a practical approach to retrospectives facilitation. There will be a short introduction to the concept, activities, motivation, and challenges. Participants will get an opportunity to try the techniques in practice and discuss their own experiences and get advice on specific problems from their everyday lives.
We will look at decision making, body language, the psychology behind retrospectives, online retrospectives, different types of retrospectives for different situations, and you will be able to get feedback on how you facilitate if you wish to. The course is based on my book.
Agenda:
In the morning Aino will give an overview of the content and we will create a plan for what to focus on based on your expectations. Initially, the plan is to focus on common challenges in retrospectives offline as well as online, body language, psychology, team building, decision making, and structuring meetings in general.
In the afternoon Aino will share anecdotes about facilitating retrospectives, and based on these anecdotes she will focus on different patterns and antipatterns. We might also look at different technologies to support online retrospectives if there is an interest in this.
Take aways:
How to plan, and facilitate a retrospective in the most effective way How to avoid the most common antipatterns in retrospectives How to manage different personality types in a retrospective
Target Audience:
Retrospectives facilitators, either novices or experienced who need new input.

Ever had colleagues who seem to "get it" instantly while others struggle with concepts that seem obvious? The answer lies in understanding how the brain learns and how it changes as a result of this learning. This course takes you inside the fascinating world of how the brain processes, stores, and retrieves information, and shows you how to use these insights to become both a more effective teacher and learner yourself. For example, global learners thrive on seeing the big picture first, while sequential learners excel when information unfolds step by step. Instead of growing frustrated with colleagues who struggle to understand critical concepts or practices, you'll have the tools to identify how their brains process information and adapt your training approach accordingly.
Drawing on 20+ years of teaching in academia and industry, plus cutting-edge research on improving teaching in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Aarhus, Aino Vonge Corry bridges the gap between brain science and practical application, helping you transform your ability to teach and to learn by better understanding the science of how brains learn.
