John Davies is a Director & Co-founder of Incept5. He co-authored several Java books and is a frequent speaker at technical and banking conferences around the world. Over 30 years in IT, with a degree in astrophysics, a photography blogger, coach, speaker and an expert in hardware, C++, Java, and enterprise architecture.

He ran FX at Paribas and was a global chief architect at JP Morgan, BNP Paribas and VISA. John has co-founded four successful startups since 2000, selling one of them twice to Nasdaq & LSE listed companies. He currently works full-time in his company, and also volunteers as a mentor for Entrepreneurs in Syria.

He believes that, today we seem to have forgotten how powerful the machines we use are, and settle for something that is typically only 10% of what can really be achieved.
